Rather than poke around and check out the "best of 2012" lists (okay, I might still do that)... I figured all of you might have some amazing recommendations! I really love to get personal book recommendations because even if someone has different tastes or interests than mine, it's not a total shot in the dark.
Our group consists of women in their late 20s and early 30s. We've read a range of books so far—fiction and non-fiction, realistic and fantastic, classic and modern. But most are in the realm of mainstream/bestsellers with a broad appeal.
Please, please let me know... what's one of the best books you've read recently? I can't wait to hear what you've enjoyed.
Happy weekend, friends!

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through a series and the first book is amazing (if you are not leary of antibiotics no longer working....) It's called the Plague Tales by Ann Benson.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks for the reco :)
DeleteI recently finished Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, and I loved it. The story drew me and I will never think of a Kimono the say way again. I recently ordered the movie from the Library to re-watch. I can't remember how i felt about it when I first saw it years ago, but it better do the book justice or try... :0
ReplyDeleteI think I picked up that book when I was much younger, but I might just have to check it out again!
DeleteHave you ladies read A Thousand Splendid Suns? It's by the same author as Kite Runner but I liked it so much more. I also really like In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. (Both mainstream fiction)
ReplyDeleteI've read A Thousand Splendid Suns (very good), but I'll have to look at In the Time of Butterflies now!
